Thomas R. Bell is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Government at the University of Texas at Austin. His research and teaching focuses on American politics, constitutional theory, and separation of powers. He is currently writing a dissertation on how an overly legalistic conception of the Constitution’s separation of powers undermines the practice of constitutional politics. Thomas has a Master’s degree in Government from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
